ย้อนพินิจเหตุการณ์ควังจูกับพลวัตประชาธิปไตยเกาหลีใต้

บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้ทำการย้อนทวนการศึกษาที่มีอยู่ในปัจจุบันเกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเหตุการณ์ควังจูในปี 1980 และประชาธิปไตยในเกาหลีใต้ ในประเด็นนี้มักจะเข้าใจกันเป็นการทั่วไปถึงความสำคัญของเหตุการณ์ควังจูที่มีต่อการเปลี่ยนผ่านไปสู่ประชาธิปไตยของเกาหลีใต้ในปี 1987 อย่างไรก็ตาม ยังคงมีงานจำนวนน้อยที่ศึกษาความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างเหตุการณ์ควังจูและพลวัตประชาธิปไตยในเกาหลีใต้ ซึ่งครอบคลุมทั้งการเปลี่ยนผ่านไปสู่ประชาธิปไตยในปี 1987 และการสร้างความมั่นคงและยั่งยืนให้กับประชาธิปไตยภายหลังปี 1987 จนถึงปัจจุบัน โดยการประยุกต์ใช้แนวคิด “เหตุการณ์ที่ส่งผลต่อการแปลงเปลี่ยน” บทความนี้ชี้ให้เห็นถึงผลของเหตุการณ์ควังจูที่มีต่อการพัฒนาประชาธิปไตยในเกาหลีใต้ในสองลักษณะ ประการแรก เหตุการณ์ควังจูได้ปลูกฝังความรู้สึกถึง “บาปกำเนิด” ในจิตใจของคนในกองทัพ ซึ่งส่งผลตามมาทำให้จำกัดทางเลือกในการใช้กำลังปราบปรามขบวนการเรียกร้องประชาธิปไตย แง่มุมนี้เป็นปัจจัยที่เอื้อต่อความสำเร็จของขบวนการเรียกร้องประชาธิปไตยในปี 1987 ประการที่สอง เหตุการณ์ควังจูได้สร้าง “ความทรงจำร่วมของคนในรุ่น” และ “พันธกรณีในทางศีลธรรม” ที่จะต้องจัดการกับประวัติศาสตร์ความอยุติธรรมดังกล่าว ดังนั้น สาธารณชนจึงได้ทำการแปลงเปลี่ยน “ความคับข้องใจ” ให้กลายเป็น “ขบวนการทางการเมือง” ที่เคลื่อนไหวอย่างไม่ย่อท้อ เพื่อเรียกร้องให้เกิดการสถาปนาความยุติธรรมในระยะเปลี่ยนผ่าน แง่มุมที่สองนี้เป็นสิ่งที่สำคัญอย่างมากต่อการสร้างความมั่นคงและยั่งยืนให้กับประชาธิปไตย
