Study on Training Needs of Land Reform Officers.

Abstract

A study on official duty of 129 Land Reform Officers, working in Agricultural Land Reform Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, was carried out through 43 provinces which covered 13 provinces in the Northern region, 13 provinces in Central, 12 provinces in the Northeast, and 5 provinces in Southern region. The results revealed that most Land Reform Officers were male with average age of 39.29 years, official tenure of 14.80 years and average service inchargeds of land reform off 7.07 years. About 87.60% of them had attended Land Reform Policy training course before. It was found that, Land Reform Officers considered that inservice training should be organized every year the first priority subject needed to be trained was land reform policy. The training problems were identified as ineffective training technigues. They recommended that the training course should be more practically oriented.
