System Development of Baby Corn Production in Paddy Field in Kamphaengsaen’s Irrigation Area

บทคัดย่อ

The purpose of this study was to understand the problems and impact of baby corn production along with rice production and the research results will be used for planning and developing the baby corn production system to fit the farmer’s condition and farm functioning. It was found that the decreasing of rice production’s area was due to labour limiting and low income, the most of rice production was used for family consumption. Some parts of poor soil was not suitable for vegetative, the farmers used for sugarcane production with support production inputs from the middle-quota men so that sugarcane production could be maintained. Althought the farmer got the high net income from the baby corn corn production and the stalk, using for feeding livestock but because of the shortage family labour it’s impossible for them to increase the area of baby corn production. Suggestions related to this research were that cropping calendar for baby corn and rice production should be arranged for solving the labour shortage problems. The relayed cropping system of baby corn should be researched for supplying of stalk through out the year without grass production for feeding livestock under soil conservation planning. Furthermore, fresh baby corn production should be improved to be exported through the control of standardization and the price which will depend on its quality.
