Buddhism and Environmental Conservation

บทคัดย่อ

The purpose o this research was to apply Theravada Buddhist principle to solve environmental problems in Thailand. The research result showed that the cause of endangered environment came from Ucchedaditthi or the wrong view widely known as Materialism, Capitalism and Reductionism. The way to protect the environment in Thailand was to change the wrong view to the right view or Sammaditti which is regarded as the Naturalistic point of view in Buddhism. The researcher suggested the Agganasutta, the Singalasutta and the Vinaya show the way of life of the Buddhists as conservationists. All the world problems can be solved by Dhamma, therefore the Buddhists should join forces in familiarizing people with Dhamma an urge them to tend to Dhamma in solving problems.
