Assessing the competency in exploring the living world of high school students through practical examples: A case study in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam

บทคัดย่อ

The study aims to assess the competency in exploring the living word (CELW) of high school students in selected schools in the Mekong Delta region. The research was carried out from May to December 2022 and involved 464 students (217 males and 247 females) from nine high schools in this region. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey approach, utilizing quantitative and qualitative research methods, with data collection through Google Forms. The results indicate that students possessed CELW at a low level, particularly in scientific research skills, statistical data interpretation, and practical application of knowledge. These limitations were attributed to inadequate scientific research skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the application of learned knowledge in real-world situations. Consequently, educators are advised to introduce innovative teaching content and methodologies to enhance the abilities of high school students regarding CELW at all learning levels.
