Work stress of accountants in the Sub District Administrative Organization in Nakhonratchasima

Abstract

          The purpose of this research was to study the work stress of accountants in the Sub District Administrative Organization in Nakhonratchasima. The questionnaire was adopted from Karasek (1979) by Pitchaya Paktongsuch & Nualta Arpacuppagun (2548) that used to collecting the level of work stress. The participants included 138 finance and accounting staffs. The data were collected by mail survey. Ninety-one return mails were analyzed by descriptive statistical method and F-test for hypothesis testing.


          The research result showed that the majority of the finance and accounting staffs are female, age between 36-40 years old, work experience between 7-10 years. The work stress level of 42 participants was at the moderate level which could be interpreted as appropriate for work. The moderate work stress level means that this group of staffs has ability to control and to make a decision on their job. It also indicates that they have self-motivated to learn and to develop their job. In addition, the result presented an insignificant between the groups of age.
