The Development of Inventory Management Program for Chinese Banquet Business in Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

               This research aims to study 1) the needs for inventory management information of Chinese Banquet Business in Nakhon Pathom Province 2) analyze, design and develop the Inventory Management Program for Chinese Banquet Business in Nakhon Pathom Province; 3) determine the satisfaction of using the Inventory Management Program for Chinese Banquet Business. The sample size consisted of 44 respondents from Chinese Banquet association by using hardware and software tools. The researcher used in-depth interview to collect the information management inventory system from the Chinese Banquet Entrepreneurs. Moreover, a questionnaire is used to determine the satisfaction for inventory management program for Chinese Banquet Business with 5 rating scales. Percentage, mean and standard deviation were used for data analys
               The results showed that Chinese Banquet Entrepreneurs needed the information management inventory system to manage the procurement to raw material, its withdrawal and report the amount of raw materials remaining. Moreover it is used to calculate the amount and cost of raw materials that would be used in servicing each Chinese Banquet. The researcher has analyzed and designed the inventory management program for the Chinese Banquet Business consisting of 4 systems as follows (1) raw materials and supplier database system (2) raw material management system (3) Chinese Banquet service system and (4) raw material reporting system. The satisfaction assessment shows thatthe average level satisfaction of the inventory management program for Chinese Banquet Business in Nakhon Pathom Province in the data import dimension is very good (X= 4.30, SD. = 0.76). The average level of the working process is good (X= 4.17, SD. = 0.78). The average level of information display is good (X= 4.16, SD. = 0.76). The average level of in storage and data security is very good (X= 4.39, SD. = 0.75). The overall satisfaction of the Inventory Management System for Chinese Banquet Business is very good (X= 4.26, SD. = 0.77). This
research indicated that the development of Inventory Management System for Chinese Banquet Business is complying with the requirements of Chinese Banquet Entrepreneurs. The system help save time spent on procurement of raw material and reporting the amount of raw materials in stock the was originally
completed manually. Moreover, the program calculates the quantity and the costs of inventories used in each service accurately, speedily and efficiently.
