Abstract

Gold mining operation of Tungkom Co. Limited in Wang-Sapung
Sub district, Loei Province affected people’s health who have lived
nearby gold mining area. People’s body contaminated with Lead,
Cadmium, arsenic, manganese and cyanides. These toxic resulted in a
conflict between affected people and Tungkom Co.,Limited. These
people used people politics by making a complaint government sector
for solving the conflict. Whereas local government officials mediated
people for beneficial of Tungkom Co.,Ltd. When the conflict has
protracted, Prayuth administrative suspended Tungkom Co. Limited and
other goldmining companies form doing their business. He ordered gold
mining companies for restoring environment around gold mining area,
curing affected people. Suggestion of solving gold mining problem
included improvement of government sector concerning the process of
toxic examination, considering EHIA procedure and proposed bill of
mining, support people participation in patent permit of gold mining.
