documentary research, a number of related statistics and news,
including 3 case studies related to community enterprises, have been
reviewed to provide better insight into the development of social
capital in Thai community enterprises. The study found that social
capital, comprising of social networks, trust, and shared norms, is an
important factor influencing the survival of Thai community enterprises.
Additionally, the result showed that process of institutionalization,
determining organizational legitimacy and survival of those community
enterprises, is a consequence of normative isomorphism which stems
primarily from functional pressures, particularly group norms that
requires public participation as a critical method of socialization.
