The Development of an English Reading Activity Package to Develop the Reading Achievement of Mathayomsuksa 3 Students

Abstract

Objective of this study are 1) to establish and determine the effectiveness of an English reading practice activity package to develop the reading achievement of Mathayomsuksa 3 students in accordance with the 80/80 criterion 2) to compare the learning achievement by using the English Reading Skill Activity Package to develop reading achievement for Mathayomsuksa 3 students 3) To study students' satisfaction with English reading practice activity series to develop reading achievement for Mathayomsuksa 3 students. The population used in this study was Mathayom Suksa 3 students studying in the first semester of academic year 2019 at Wat Salak Nuea School, Ban Mai Subdistrict, Pak Kret District Nonthaburi Province under the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, total 38 people. The tools used in this study were 1) 18 learning management plans, 2) 8 volumes of English reading practice activities to develop reading achievement at Mathayomsuksa 3 students      3) Achievement test: The study was a multiple-choice, 4 options, 30 questions and    4) Student satisfaction questionnaire towards the English Reading Practice Set for Developing Reading Achievement for Mathayomsuksa 3 Students, totaling 10 items. Analyze the data to find the efficiency of the process. Performance of outcomes, percentage, mean, standard deviation and statistical percentage of progress and satisfaction the study results were summarized as follows:

1. An activity set to practice reading English to develop the reading achievement of Mathayomsuksa 3 students with an efficiency of 82.72 / 82.22 which is higher than the established criteria 80/80.
2. Students have higher post-study achievement before studying, meeting the set requirements. Showed that the students have progressed in their studies. There was an average progress of 20 points and a 50.00 percent increase in mean progress.
3. The students were satisfied with their learning by using the English Reading Practice Series to develop the reading achievement of Mathayomsuksa 3 students in overall satisfaction at a high level with the mean of 4.13.
