Integration Model of Teaching and Learning, Researching, and Academic Services for Community Development under The Local Development Strategy of Buriram Rajabhat University

Abstract

            The objectives of this research were to find the guidelines for developing learning and teaching and to search for the learning and teaching integration model with the community development under the strategic project for local development, and the integrated teaching and learning outcomes. The sample group consisted of 29 of the 4th year social development students taking Research in Social Development course in the academic year 2020 The data were collected by implementing a questionnaire form, an in-depth interview form, a focus group, and an observation. Statistical value, were employed in quantitative data analysis while content analysis was used for qualitative data analysis.

            The results in terms of guidelines for the guidelines for developing learning and teaching showed that most of the students suggested having the continuation of learning and teaching management of an Introduction to Research Methodology in Humanities and Social Sciences course that they studied in their third year and continue using the research topics and the advisers from the third year until the fourth year. As for the model of teaching and learning integration with the strategic project for local development, it was found that the integration model in the implementation process can be divided into 3 steps: 1) searching and developing research problems, 2) conducting a research, and 3) documenting lessons learned and concluding the results. This is consistent with the process of the strategic project for local development. Integrated teaching was used as a tool for implementing the strategic project to achieve goals effectively resulting in the students being satisfied with the teaching as a whole at a very satisfied level (mean=4.42).
