Abstract
The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between burnout and organizational commitment of Police Officers in Khon Kaen Provincial Police Organization. The study examined dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment which affected organizational commitment, and compared the commitment with those who had different role, time performance and position. The data were collected from 259 samples by using questionnaires, and additional interview. The statistics include: frequencies, percentage, mean, multiple correlation analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVAs were applied in data analyzing. The results found that 1. emotional exhaustion and depersonalization had negative correlation with organizational commitment, while reduction in personal accomplishment had an effect to organizational commitment. 2. Police officers who had different role had different organizational commitment. 3.Police with different position and years of work had no different in organizational commitment. There for the supervisors should create relationships, and feeling of organization commitment by using family management model rather than a commander concept. Supervisors must follow up assigned tasks, reinforce work motivation, and provide opportunity for them to work in major duties and responsibilities, and organize relaxing activities to strengthen relationship.
