The Capacity Strategy for Committee Leadership in Village Fund of Nakhon Sawan Municipality

Abstract

  The purposes of this research were to: 1) study competency of the committee of village fund and urban community in Nakhon Sawan Municipality; 2) create strategic for increasing competency of the committee of village fund and urban community; and 3) evaluate the effectiveness of strategy for increasing competency of the committee of village fund and urban community in Nakhon Sawan Municipality. The research and development approach were adhered to prove the hypothesis of semi-experimental research. Research tools were a form to ask for competency in leadership, a test of knowledge, a form to measure competency and attitude, and training courses. The sample group comprised 48 committee of village fund and urban community. Not only quantitative data analysis was adopted by using percentage, standard deviation, mean and t-test, but also qualitative data analysis was authentically descriptive.
   Results showed as follows:
   1. The leadership competency of the committee of village fund and urban community that affected effectiveness of the practice in duty were four factors: 1) Knowledge, 2) Leadership Skill, 3) Behavior, and 4) Strategic Development.
   2. Strategy for increasing competency of the committee of village fund and urban community included three components: 1) Knowledge Building and Duty Understanding, 2) Leadership Development, and 3) Strategic Development.
   3. Results of strategic performance revealed that the experimental group were knowledgeable, understanding their duty, using leadership competency in work, and attitude toward practice in duty of the post training was higher than the pretest statistically with the 0.05 significant level.
