Abstract

     The objectives of this graduate guitar recital were to develop the performer’s performance skills by choosing the repertories from Romantic and the Early 20th Century Period since the performer would like to focus, concentrate, and demonstrate different technical skills from those periods. The Performer also learns how to write an academic analysis of the compositions, practice planning and interpretation of the repertories. The performer not only studied history of composers, pieces, form, practice planning and the development of performance ability; but also learned how to organize a guitar recital and how to write a professional program note with proper information about the composers and the selected compositions. The guitar recital was conducted at the College of Music, Payap University on 25th February 2015. The program consisted of seven pieces as follows.

2. Marzurka-Choro No.1 by Heitor Villa Lobos


3. Sonatina for guitar in A major by Federico Moreno Torroba


4. Prelude no. 5 by Heitor Villa Lobos


5. Hommage à Tárrega, Op. 69 by Joaquín Turina


6. Valse op.8 no.4 by Agustín Barrios Mangoré


7. Un sueño en la Floresta by Agustín Barrios Mangoré


Total time was approximately 60 minutes without intermission.
