Abstract
The purposes of this research were: 1) to study factors of community leader’s participation in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province, 2) to investigate the participation of the community leader in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province, 3) to find factors affecting the participation of the community leader in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province. The sample comprised 108 community leader in Paordonchai sub-district, simple random sampling was used. The research tools comprised three sets of questionnaires, covering personnel data, factors of community leader’s participation in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province. and the participation of the community leader in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province. The statistical devices used for data analysis were both descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product- moment correlation coefficient and Stepwise Multiple regression).
The findings were as follows; 1) the factors of community leader’s participation in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province, environment factors, community factors and educational Institution at moderate level (Mean 3.34, 3.35, 3.30/S.D. .60, .62, .55), 2) they rated their overall participatory of the community leader in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province in thinking, decision making, practice and evaluation at moderate level (Mean 2.88, 2.87, 2.76/S.D. .98, .90, and .98 respectively), 3) environment factors and educational Institution factors affecting the participation of the community leader in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province and predicted the participation in academic service of government’s vocational college, Chiang Rai province at 34.70% (R = .347) p-value 0.01.
