A Model of Community Energy Management by Buddhist Economics Guideline

Abstract

   The purposes of this research were to evaluate and aggregate the lessons learned from the community energy management of best practice model, and to gather lessons learned from integration of the Buddhist economics for developing the ideal model about sustainable of community energy management. This research used qualitative approach method by study documents and the use of a structured questionnaire to interviewing key informants and information were analyzed using descriptive.
   The result of evaluation and lessons learned from community energy management of the prototype community with best practices of community energy management indicated that the best practices of community energy management consists of four key practices included (1) household-based energy production comes from the consumption or actual use of each household both energy type and required energy, (2) implementation of a community energy production system designed to fit or approximate the actual volume of use to reduce unnecessary system installation and maintenance costs because the cost of energy production varies depending on the production capacity, (3) processes of community energy management approved by the public, regulated and consisted of five community energy management processes: information survey, energy production planning, energy production practices, energy production evaluation and summary of energy production, and (4) development of a learning center for community energy production that there are demonstration of all kinds of renewable energy production in the community to transfer knowledge for community members.
   From integration between the community energy management by Buddhist economics guideline and the lessons learned from the community energy management in the present. It was developed into a model of 4Cs energy management community that should be a model of community energy management by adopting Buddhist economics guideline and lesson learned from the implementation of the energy management community with fostering cognition that composed of four main sections as follows: (1) the practice continues to produce energy community, (2) the development effort intended to produce energy community, (3) the development of cognition on community energy production, and (4) the development of center for learning on community energy management.
