การวิจัยด้านการบัญชีเป็นการศึกษาวิจัยหาข้อเท็จจริงด้วยระบบอันมีระเบียบแบบแผน เพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งความรู้หรือข้อเท็จจริงในเรื่องที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการบัญชี กระบวนการวิจัยจะเริ่มจากการเลือกหัวเรื่องจนกระทั่งได้ผลผลิตในรูปของรายงานการวิจัย โครงการวิจัยมีองค์ประกอบหลักประกอบด้วยชื่อหัวเรื่อง ความสำคัญของปัญหาการวิจัย วัตถุประสงค์ขอบเขต ประโยชน์ วรรณกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้อง ระเบียบวิธีวิจัย บุคลากรผู้ทำวิจัย งบประมาณ เอกสารอ้างอิงและภาคผนวกการวิจัยด้านการบัญชีสามารถทำได้ทั้งการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณและการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ การวิจัยจำแนกเป็นการวิจัยด้านการบัญชีการเงินและการวิจัยด้านการบัญชีบริหาร โดยที่เมื่อได้ระบุหัวเรื่อง ประเด็นปัญหา วัตถุประสงค์แล้วจะต้องกำหนดกรอบแนวคิดการศึกษาและแตกแนวคิดออกมาในรูปของตัวแปรหรือสิ่งที่สนใจจะศึกษาค้นคว้าด้านการบัญชี

ABSTRACT

Accounting research is the study and the investigation using methodical system which results in knowledge or fact about subject related to accounting. The research process begins with topic choosing and the final output is a research report. The main compositions of a research project are: the topic; the importance of the research; research objectives; research scope; advantages of the research; literature review; research methodology; the names of the researchers; budget; references; and appendix. An accounting research can be conducted by using either a quantitative research method or a qualitative research method. Further, it can be divided into 2 categories: financial accounting research and managerial accounting research. After the researcher has identified the topic, the problem issues and the objectives, the researcher has to identify the conceptual framework and variables or the accounting issues that the researcher is interested to study.
