THE WAY OF INCENTIVE MEASURES FOR THE CONSERVATION AND SUSTAINABLE USE OF BIODIVERSITY IN THAILAND

Abstract

This Research aims to study the way of incentive measures for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and the way to apply that policy in Thailand. This study was qualitative research model which data was collected on legal and policy of government agencies, also the promotion of private sector was supported both with domestic and oversea to analysis. And focus group with 5 main informants. The research result showed that Nowadays, Thailand has a lot of law, policies and the way to motivate for conserve biodiversity with sustainability that enough but without how to apply with concrete result. In addition to law enforcement seriously. The way of incentives to conserve and utilize biodiversity in Thailand has led to policy changes to support the valuation and economic benefits. And incentive measures must include: legal and fiscal policy measures, economic measures and social and participatory measures. However, the way to motivate do not use one of these ways but must be use all together for the concrete practice. To achieve the effect of concrete practice. Also focus on these issues. 1) Conservation in habitat 2) Sustainable and wise use 3) Payment for Ecosystem Service and 4) Financial funding.
