THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SCHOOL-BASED CURRICULUM ADMINISTRATION MODEL FOCUSING ON COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION FOR SMALL-SIZED SCHOOLS IN THE WESTERN EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA

Abstract

The purposes of the research were to study factors, develop the model and evaluate the quality of the model of the curriculum administration focusing on the community participation for small-sized schools in the western educational region. The samples comprised 330 administrators and teachers in small-sized secondary schools in the educational western region, and the community leaders by stratified random sampling. The research was conducted by 4 steps are studying factors of curriculum administration model that emphasized the community participation, creating a curriculum management model that emphasized the community participation, development of curriculum management model that emphasizes community participation by using Delphi technique by asking experts to comment 3 time to express their opinions about the Development of  curriculum management model that focuses on community participation 17 people and examination of the appropriateness of the curriculum management that emphasize community participation for small high school in the western region education area by inquiring from the administrators teacher and community leaders on the form of school curriculum management that emphasize community participation for small high schools evaluate the appropriateness of the model by using the questionnaire with 320 administrators teachers and community leaders. The instruments were the interview questions and the questionnaire with the content validity at 0.6-1.0 and the reliability at 0.802. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean and standard deviation.

Research findings:

1. The factors of curriculum administration model that emphasizes community participation for small secondary school in the western region classist of determining from always is of research papers and interviews with school administrator. There are 4 elements: 1) Support participation 2) Participatory participation 3) Participation in the focus of work success 4) Participation in participation.

2. The results of the curriculum administration mode focusing on the community participation development were coherent at the highest level for 3 factors-support participation, work-oriented participation, and participatory articipation, whereas the controlled participation was at a high level.

3. The evaluation of the quality of the model of the curriculum administration focusing on the community participation was appropriate to be implemented at a high level.
