CHECK-IN AROUND THAILAND: AN ONLINE MULTIMEDIA CHANNEL PRODUCTION FOR COMPETENCIES-BASED DEVELOPMENT OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were to 1) evaluate the appropriateness of the online TV program production activity, Check-in and Travel Around Thailand aiming to promote the competencies of lower secondary school learners 2) evaluate behavior indicating competencies of junior high school learners after participating in the online TV program production activity, Check-in and Travel Around Thailand aiming to promote the competencies of lower secondary school learners; and 3) the learners' satisfaction towards the online TV program production activity, Check-in and Travel Around Thailand aiming to promote the competencies of lower secondary school learners. The samples used in this research were 83 students in grades 7-9, specifically selected from Satri Wat-absornsawan School junior high school students. The research instruments are 1) an evaluation form for the online TV program production activity, Check-in and Travel Around Thailand aiming to promote the competencies of lower secondary school learners designed with  WESPRA model with IOC=0.8 2) a behavioral assessment questionnaire indicating the students' competencies in 6 aspects after participating in the activity with IOC=1 and 3) a satisfaction questionnaire with IOC=1. The statistics used in the research are averages and standard deviations. The results showed that the online TV program production activity, Check-in and Travel Around Thailand aiming to promote the competencies of lower secondary school learners in overall was appropriate at the highest level (average=4.38, standard deviation=0.08). The behaviors indicated 6 aspects of competencies of learners after participating in activities in overall picture was high (average=4.41, standard deviation=0.57). The most outstanding competencies aspect was the ability to co-operate in teamwork was at a very high level (average=4.6, standard deviation=0.5). The satisfaction of the sample with the activities of the online TV program production activity, Check-in and Travel Around Thailand aiming to promote the competencies of lower secondary school learners in overall was at the highest level. (mean=4.82, standard deviation=0.4)
