Abstract

This research aimed to (1) study the love and relationship patterns of adolescents according to John Alan Lee's concept of the three types, and (2) investigate the relationship between demographic characteristics, psychological factors, and psychosocial factors about love and relationship behaviour. This research was quantitative by using an online questionnaire via Google Forms as a tool for collecting data from a sample group in Samut Prakan Province, totalling 185 people. The statistics used for data analysis were descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics, including multiple linear regression analysis.

The research results found that the demographic characteristics in terms of education level had an influence on behavior, romantic love relationships, but had an inverse relationship. In addition, age influenced love and relationship behaviour, as well as the type of love in friendships, but had an inverse relationship. In terms of attitude variables, it was found that psychosocial factors, which are related to the social environment, including family upbringing and training, support and understanding from friends and teachers in educational institutions, influenced the development of mental stability and self-confidence, which therefore affected the behavior of youths in terms of having love and relationships in all three types.
