Media and Communication for Learning Innovative Step of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for Grade 7 to Grade 9 Students in Secondary School

Abstract

 The objectives of this research were 1) to study the characteristics of the media as a product for Grade 7 to Grade 9 students in secondary school to learn Step 3: Innovation Step of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, and 2) to study the teachers’ and students’ communication methods in Step 3: Innovation Step of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy. This study was qualitative research, and interviews were conducted with the target audience, consisting of 17 students chosen through purposive sampling. All of them were students in the group of the Sustainable Development Leaders Program (SDL) of the Chaipattana Foundation. Inspection techniques were used, and the interview results from 3 rounds of Delphi technique were examined by 3 eminent people to see if the media were adequately consistent with the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy or not. The research results showed that 1) the characteristics of the media that were the number 1 product should have characteristics for students to think, collaborate, and produce in order to make the product come out as an innovative school product. 2) There should be many forms of media, both online conferences and parent meetings, to let schools and the customers communicate so that  students learn something, and all found issues should be  confirmed to be consistent with all principles of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.
