Communication to Reduce Conflicts in Industrial Society with Communities by Applying Good Governance in Practice

Abstract
The objective of this research was to create a communication method to reduce conflicts between the stone mill’s industrial plants and the community in the communication resulting from the practical implementation of the stone mill's good governance to the community. The study was qualitative research using focus groups. The target group was divided into 2 groups of 7 people each, for a total of 14 people. It was found that there were good governance communication practices consisting of 1) Rules of law, the stone mill should follow the procedures of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) by communicating with the community; 2) Moral principles: stone mill entrepreneurs should instill in their employees the importance of conscience, discipline, and honesty; 3) Principles of transparency: Entrepreneurs should disclose information about the process and give people the opportunity to join as members of the people's sector in order to help bring accurate information to communicate further to the community; 4) Participation principles: Stone mill entrepreneurs should provide a platform for the public to voice their opinions on various issues, as well as an opportunity for the community to communicate with entrepreneurs; 5) Social Responsibility Principles: The mill entrepreneurs should establish social responsibility guidelines in order to provide prompt remedies; 6) Value for money: the 3R principles, namely Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, should be adopted and communicated to people in the community.
