Perception of health information affecting health behavior change of the elderly: A case study of Chorakhe Sam Phan Sub district Health Promotion Hospital

Abstract

This research contains two objectives: 1) to study the health information awareness of the elderly social addicts in the hospital responsibility area of Chorakhe Sam Phan Sub district Health Promotion Hospital 2) to study the relationship between health information awareness and health behavior of the elderly social addicts in the hospital responsibility area of Chorakhe Sam Phan Sub district Health Promotion Hospital. The research team used qualitative methods, in-depth interviews and questions as a collection tool to obtain data according to the established research purposes. Seventeen elderly people from the social addiction group in Chorakhe Sam Phan Sub district, Suphan Buri Province, it was found that the population with the highest personal media exposure rate has health awareness, followed by YouTube and television. The frequency of receiving health information found that the sample is open to social media and television every day. For personal media, the sample group is the most open to personal media, but on the other hand, health information is usually opened in order two. The relation between health information perception and health behavior was studied, and it was found that the stronger the subjects perception of health information, the stronger their health behavior.
