Guidelines for Development of Guidance Management Quality of Private Schools Muang District in Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to 1) study the current conditions and problems in guidance management in private schools and 2) develop guidelines for improving the quality of guidance management in private schools. The target group used in the research was guidance teachers from private schools, a total of 52 people. The sample group used in the research was guidance teachers, a total of 10 people, selected purposively. The research tools used were  a 5-level questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. Statistics used to analyze and use data include percentages, averages, standard deviations, and content analysis. The results of the research found that the current conditions and problem in the management of guidance work in private schools. The overall present condition is at a high level and the overall problem condition is at a low level when considering the guidance administration by the principles of the quality management cycle (PDCA) at each step and the guidelines for developing the quality of guidance administration of private schools in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province, consisting of 1) Educational institutions should plan a meeting to explain policies, objectives, appointment of an operations committee, and determination of guidelines. 2) There should be a model for developing information system guidance tools and training to provide knowledge about guidance activities to all teachers. 3) Educational institutions should have monitoring and auditing in their guidance administration and there are various forms of assessment according to the situation and context of the school. and 4) Develop educational institutions, public relations, and networking with the community  so that students can seek knowledge in every aspect.
