A STUDY ON QUALITY OF LIFE PROMOTION ACTIVITIES FOR THE ELDERS ON ELDERLY CLUB, LAK CHANG SUB-DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY, CHANG KLANG DISTRICT, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were as follows 1) to study on quality of life promotion activities for the elders on elderly club, Lak Chang sub-district municipality, Chang Klang district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. 2) To Study the suggestion on problem and resolution for quality of life promotion activities for the elders on elderly club, Lak Chang sub-district municipality, Chang Klang district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. Collection of data as quality and quantity from elders who are the member of elderly club in Lak Chang sub-district municipality by questionnaire and focus group, data analysis of quantity research with percentage, mean and standard deviation, data analysis of qualitative research with descriptive analysis as reality condition.

          The findings were as follows:

          1) The elderly club has arranged activities for quality of life promotion by overview was at moderate level when considered in each aspect from more to less found that the aspect of physical was the highest mean and followed up the aspect of social relationships and psychological but the aspect of environment was the lowest mean. The activities of elderly club composed of (1) activities for life quality promotion in physical domain i.e. exercise, medical check-up, awareness of disease (protection and curation) (2) activities for life quality promotion in psychological domain i.e. praying, meditation, candle cycling in nine temples, study tour and mind development, birthday greeting and national day for elderly (3) activities for life quality promotion in social relationships domain i.e. entertainment, friends visit friends funeral fund activity, changing idea with networking of elderly club and community participation (4) activities for life quality promotion in environment domain i.e. to advise and awareness in varieties etc.

          2) The problem in arrangement of activities of elderly club, Lak Chang sub-district municipality i.e. narrow of place, no place for settlement, health problem of member and not participate in activities because of traveling problem and lake of budget for arrangement of activities which can be benefits. The resolution; the club should have own place, to have car for picking up members to participate in activities in monthly, there should have more support for knowledge and private fund sector over than government sector.
