THE ZIMME PAṆṆĀSA JĀTAKA NO.11 - 20: TRANSLITERATION TRANSLATION AND COMPARATIVE STUDY

Abstract

                This research article has objectives as follows: 1) To exchange and translate Paññāyāsa Jātaka version of Chiang Mai edition Or Zimme Paṇṇāsa Jātaka, issue 11-20 Pali, Roman script to Pali, Thai script. 2) To compare Paññāyāsa Jātaka, Chiang Mai issue 11-20 with the Thai version of the Fine Arts Department. National Library Edition Silpa Bankan Publisher and the Lanna edition oversee by Pichit Agganich in characters, idioms, language, style, and writing. This research is a documentary research. By presenting the descriptive research results. The results reveal that: Paññāyāsa Jātaka, Chiang Mai issue 11 - 20, the researcher exchanged from Pali, Roman script to Pali, Thai script Complete with checking the form of footnotes and using the correct vocabulary in this issue. After the researcher has exchanged, examined, and translated, the study was compared with the National Library and Lanna editions of the characters, idioms, language and style of composing. The characters will be slightly different. The Chiang Mai version uses all Pali expressions. As the researcher has exchanged, examined, and translated The National Library version uses Pali idioms like the Chiang Mai version. The difference is that only the Pali language comes from short sentences. Other than that, it uses Thai idioms to continue the story until the end. The Lanna version uses the Pali idioms and translates them into the Lanna dialect. The Chiang Mai version is written in pure Pali language. Is a style of writing in simple, uncomplicated sentences The National Library version has a sentence form in Pali like the Chiang Mai version? The difference is that the story travels in Pali, only the beginning sentence. As for the Lanna edition, it is composed in the same way as the Chiang Mai edition and the National Library version. Different only for Thai translation which the Lanna version translates into the end of the story by using the Lanna dialect considered a style that is different from the Jātaka version of the Chiang Mai and the National Library.
