RISK MANAGEMENT OF HOMESTAY IN PHRA NAKHON SRI AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research focuses on the management of local experience accommodations (Homestay). The objectives of this research are to study the local homestay management, tourists’ opinions on risk management, and guidelines for risk management for the accommodation. The samples in a qualitative study are 30 homestay owners using a random sampling method. 400 tourists from the convenient sampling method are used in a quantitative study. Semi-structured interview, group discussion, and questionnaires are used to collect data. According to the analysis of 400 Thai tourists, most of them are bachelor’s degree female employee age of 35 to 44 years old. The results suggested that assessment of overall risk management on tourism is of a high level which leads to the group discussion. The homestay entrepreneurs in Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya presented guidelines for risk management in 5 aspects;       1) illnesses and diseases, 2) life and personal belongings, 3) stress and mental condition, 4) Accident and 5) environment.
