AGING SOCIETY DEVELOPMENT MODEL FOR PROMOTING HEALTH BEHAVIOR OF BAAN HUAI-SUWAN COMMUNITY, DON PRU SUB- DISTRICT, SRI PRACHAN DISTRICT, SUPHAN BURI PROVINCE

Abstract

           The objectives of this research article were to 1) study background of aging society situation for promoting health behavior of Baan Huai-Suwan Community, Don Pru Sub - District, Sri Prachan District, Suphan Buri Province, 2) create aging society development model for promoting health behavior of Baan Huai-Suwan Community, Don Pru Sub - District, Sri Prachan District, Suphan Buri Province, and 3) evaluate aging society development model for promoting health behavior of Baan Huai-Suwan Community, Don Pru Sub - District, Sri Prachan District, Suphan Buri Province, Mixed method research was applied: quantitative method and qualitative method. The quantitative method, the population were 160 elderly people who lived in do Pru area. The research instrument collecting data was Aging Society Development for Promoting Health Behavior questionnaires, and the data was analyzed by statistic: percentage and mean. The qualitative method divided population into three groups: 1) interview group 20 people, 2) focus group discussion 20 people, and 3) brainstorming group 12 people. The research result found that aging society of Baan Huai-Suwan did not have networking building, did not have knowledge of health behavior, and did not have guideline of studying in health promoting of Pender. The input factors or supporting factors consisted as health promoting behavior model, personal characteristic and experience, thinking and feeling of people which have specifically with behavior, and the result from behavior, health promoting behavior activities, process consisted as elderly social network, awareness and self-esteem, learning and doing in behavior. The evaluation showed that health behavior of elderly people, the result of the evaluation of health behavior model was in the Very low.
