PEOPLE'S OPINIONS ON DEMOCRATIC POLITICAL CULTURE AT SELAPHUM SUB-DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY SELAPHUM DISTRICT ROI ET PROVINCE

The objectives of this were 1) to study people's opinions on democratic political culture 2) to study the development of a democratic political culture, a quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research was to collect data on a sample of 393 people who have the right to vote and have a registration address by calculating with Taro Yamane formula. The tool was a 5-level estimation questionnaire. The qualitative research was conducted using a selective interview. Sheriff's representative, Representative of Selaphum Municipality, Council member, school representative, and 9 representatives of mass media. The results of the research were as follows: 1) People's opinions on democratic political culture overall is moderate, sorting from average, high to low. Citizen consciousness participation in political, participation in political and government activities, Respect for the rules of democratic governance, lacking of a dictatorial mind, adherence to and trust in the principles and dignity of the person, having confidence in democracy, optimism, and reason in creative way 2) Guidelines for the development of democratic political culture were: people should have an understanding and a sense of civic duty by being involved in political activities, reverence for the rules of democratic governance, follow up the news and events of the country, voting, optimism, no biased mind or a dictator, confidence in democracy, political institutions allow people to know their activities which it easy to develop democracy.
