THE APPLICATION OF BUDDHIST PHILOSOPHY IN MAKING MERIT OF THE TENTH MONTH CULTURAL FESTIVAL FOR THE LIFE QUALITY DEVELOPMENT IN PRESENT THAI SOCIETY

Abstract

           The objectives of the research article were: 1) study the background and concepts of the Tenth Month Cultural Festival. 2) analysis of the Buddhist philosophy for the Tenth Month Cultural Festival. 3) apply of the Buddhist philosophy for the Tenth Month Cultural Festival for the Life Quality Development in Present Thai Society. And 4) create new knowledge and development pattern for the Life Quality Development in Present Thai Society. This research was a qualitative research by studying information from documents and research. To analysis by dialectical philosophical research method by using content analysis summarized as an overview. The results of the study revealed that: 1) background and concepts are merit making in the Tenth Month Cultural Festival, activity that shows clear results on morality. The concept of the Tenth Month Cultural Festival about moral such as gratitude, sacrifice, unity, humility, and reflects Thai society and the beliefs of making merit and dedicating to Petra, 2) analysis of the Buddhist philosophy for the Tenth Month Cultural Festival are study of Buddhist metaphysics on the form of image, mind, chetsik, nirvana, 62 Dissections. The epistemology of Buddhism of knowledge consists primary level of knowledge is caused by the organic senses, Intermediate level of knowledge is caused by the meditative level, and high level of knowledge is caused by the 3 wisdom are patriotism, death of animals, and desire to die, 3) apply of the Buddhist philosophy for the Tenth Month Cultural Festival include 3.1) Gratitude, 3.2) Sacrifice, 3.3) Unity, 3.4) Giving, 3.5) Benjasin - Benjatham, 3.6) Charity 10, 3.7) Sammatithi, and 4) create new knowledge and development pattern for the Life Quality Development in Present Thai Society are living with value Have morals for the benefit of oneself and society And paying attention to wisdom by extending the wisdom.
