EXISTENCE FACTORS OF CHANTABOON REED MATS

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were to study the process of the transfer of knowledge; factors that influence the continues, and study the management of the Local Wisdom in mat weaving. With 5M Community management factors which included Man, Money, Materials, Machines, and Management, manage them by the POLC system, which included Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling. By using a specific sample which is 20 mat weavers, 4 of community leaders; 2 of Provincial Commerce Officers and other private companies which are 2 of The community developer from Thailand Beverage Co., By the interviewed and participation observation found that the factors that influence the continues of Chanthaboon mat weaving industry are the network of participants that works together; to separate position of participants, to manage the funds, to controls the qualities of the material, and to learn and use the new technology. The productions managements are in the plan in the system, from product design, distribution of works, and the sale management that according to the demands, with the good system, that both managed by the government and the locals. Also, the Knowledge transferring in the local; the local study curriculum and the training from academicians, and the development of the materials qualities and products to reach the standard. These factors show that the community has a management system that is a good condition to continue the Local Wisdom.
