STUDY OF THE WISDOM OF THAI MUSIC MASTERS AND SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS IN THE THAI MUSIC PROFESSION

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were to: 1) analyze the wisdom of Thai music masters; and 2) study the process of achieving success in wisdom of Thai music profession. This research uses a qualitative methodology and there was a focus group discussion process of Thai music experts of Office of the Performing Arts, Fine Arts Department. The results showed that the wisdom of Thai music master to create an educational model of wisdom that affects the success of the Thai music profession, consisted of the following: 1) Experience and knowledge acquired since school 2)Having good musical dexterity                          3) Knowledge acquired when starting work 4) Recognition and received an honorary award 5) Be virtuous have a good attitude. Moreover, by apply the model, it is showed that the wisdom in Thai music consists of process of continuation, inheritance, preserving and creativity Thai music performing. Studying the successful process in wisdom of Kru Chaiya Thangmeesri result that 1) learning Thai music with specialists such as Kru yang Thangmeesri, Kru Ruam Promburi, Kru Boonyong Ketkong, Kru Montri Tramote and Kru Jiras Atnarong.;                  2) started working at the Sangkhet Division, Office of Performing Arts, the Fine Arts Department; 3) preserving music of Ban Kru Ruam PhromBuri, music of Ban Kru Bunyong Ketkong, and instrumental and ceremony music for performance by Office of the Performing Arts; 4) creating vocal and instrumental music. This is the origin of the MASTER model for successfully in Thai music education with Kru, the specialist who have academic knowledge and practical skills. Nowadays, Kru Chaiya is recognized with manifest workings by Thai music society, as Thai Music Library.
