ANALYSIS OF WORKLOAD AND THE RATIO OF ACADEMIC PERSONNEL TO THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS USED IN PLANNING AND MANAGING THE DOCTOR OF DENTAL SURGERY CURRICULUM, UNIVERSITY OF PHAYAO

This study is the analysis of workload and ratio of academic staffs to number of students in planning the course management of the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program, University of Phayao, and the objectives are: 1. To assess the workload and the academic staff-to-student ratio and, 2. To develop a management and staffing plan for the program, by using descriptive research methods and analyze the workload and working hours (FTE) which were collected as secondary data from the education service system, (reg.up.ac.th), University of Phayao. Workload and working hours (FTE) of academic personnel in the academic year 2023 found that the Oral medicine and oral surgery department had the highest workload and working hours. The analysis of the number of full-time students (FTES) showed that division of Oral diagnosis, In the other hand, oral medicine and surgery department contained
the largest number of full-time students. the ratio of academic personnel to students, showed that division of Dental Public Health, The preventive dentistry department has the highest ratio of academic staff to students. And when comparing the ratio of academic personnel to students, academic year 2023 with the ratio of the number of full-time students to full-time academic staff, according to the criteria and guidelines regarding internal quality assurance in higher education and division. the Dental Council found that all division except the of dental public health, department of Preventive Dentistry had exceeded the educational quality assurance criteria and the ratio of instructors who supervise clinical practice of the Dental Council. From in-depth analysis, if full-time instructors who have been granted leave to continue their studies begin to return to work, it will help the teacher-student ratio meet
the criteria and result in a more balanced workload and number of personnel.
