Abstract

This academic paper is a study of political participation in democracy and sustainable development of the country. To acknowledge the importance of political participation that play an important role in the development of democracy as well as the rights and obligations of the people to participate in politics through various channels and processes as stipulated by the current constitutional law. People's political participation is considered the most important thing in a democracy. The main goal of the development of a democratic political system is People's Political Participation This is because political participation is an important indicator. One of the democracies Which society has a high or low level of democracy? Considered from the level of political participation Engaging people to participate in politics will enable the development of politics to be sustainable. Is to develop a democratic system to be stable and sustainable according to the principle that sovereignty belongs to the people Giving people rights, liberties and equality based on the law not based on personal but such a form of governance will fail if people are not equipped with education, lack of knowledge and responsibility as owners of sovereignty, lack of morality and political ethics. And does not adhere to the principles of the interests of the people and the nation Therefore, applying the principles of Buddhism to be applied along with the development of the country therefore contributes to the development more or less because Buddhism teaches the mind When human beings have a good mind, society and environment will be good as well. Therefore, the development of the country is sustainable for a long time. must be developed in accordance with Buddhism as well by using the principles of dharma such as the trisikkha, sammatitthi, mattanyuta, and the eightfold path, which is based on the principle of human development.
