CASINOS IN THAILAND

Abstract
This study focused on casinos in Thailand with the following research objectives:
- to study the origin of the government's policy related to casinos in Thailand, 2. to study the laws related to casinos in Thailand and abroad, 3. to examine the administrative and management systems in providing casino services as entertainment complexes, and 4. to investigate the economic, social, and quality-of-life impacts of the establishment of casinos in Thailand.
From the study on the government's casino policy in Thailand, it was found that there needs to be a national-level casino business policy, with the Thai Ministry of Interior establishing a government policy to legalize gambling, allowing the government to regulate and control it.
From the examination of the laws related to casinos in Thailand and abroad, it was identified that the establishment of a casino requires a state policy and the establishment of a ministry to set specific gambling policies. However, the government has not yet formulated any concrete policy regarding the opening of free gambling venues. Apart from the social issue of wanting to bring underground gambling businesses under the law, such as the case of underground lotteries which have now been legalized, the possibilities of implementing casino laws and opening legal casinos are should bemonitored by the government.
From the study to examine the administrative and management systems in providing casino services as entertainment complexes, it was found that the gambling models of foreign countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, which have been successfully implemented, primarily involve a Gambling Commission responsible for the management of various casinos, overseeing and controlling, as well as the internal management system of the casinos.
From the study of the economic, social, and quality-of-life impacts of establishing casinos in Thailand, it was found that there are more negative than positive effects on the economy, society, and quality of life. Implementing a casino policy affects society and quality of life, leading to policy corruption, decreased work ethics, increased number of gambling addicts, family problems, mental health issues, and a rise in gambling among children and teenagers.
