ความไม่เท่าเทียมทางเพศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสำรวจสถานภาพของความไม่เท่าเทียมทางเพศในสถาบันการศึกษาในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ เนื่องด้วยสถาบันการศึกษามีบทบาทความสำคัญในการสั่งสอน หล่อหลอม และเสริมสร้างให้เยาวชนเติบโตเป็นพลเมืองที่มีคุณภาพต่อสังคม ดังนั้น ประเด็นเรื่องความไม่เท่าเทียมทางเพศจึงมีส่วนสำคัญในระบบการศึกษาทุกระดับ งานวิจัยนี้ใช้ข้อมูลจากทีมวิจัยของศูนย์สาธารณประโยชน์และประชาสังคม สถาบันบัณฑิตพัฒนบริหารศาสตร์ ซึ่งได้เก็บข้อมูลขั้นต้นจากประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ผ่านทางการสัมภาษณ์และทำการสำรวจความคิดเห็นจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญทางด้านเพศศึกษาและครูอาจารย์ในสถาบันการศึกษา รวมทั้งมีการออกเยี่ยมศึกษาโรงเรียนในประเทศไทยเพื่อเก็บข้อมูล ผลการวิจัยพบว่าพฤติกรรมและสถานะความไม่เท่าเทียมทางเพศยังคงมีพบได้อย่างกว้างขวาง รวมทั้ง บทบาททางเพศ ค่านิยม และความคาดหวังทางเพศของสังคมที่เพศชายได้รับการเชิดชูและยอมรับมากกว่าเพศหญิงในเกือบทุกด้านในการดำรงชีวิต ดังนั้น ประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้จำเป็นต้องมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างเร่งด่วน โดยเฉพาะนโยบายทางด้านความเท่าเทียมทางเพศในสถาบันการศึกษา บทเรียน หนังสือ กิจกรรมในโรงเรียน และมีการเสริมสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจด้านความเท่าเทียมทางเพศให้แก่ครูอาจารย์และบุคลากรทุกระดับในสถาบัน
