Factors Affecting the Efficiency of Local Governments’ Policy Analysis and Planning Officials on Development Plan Formulation

This study aimed to examine the efficiency level and factors affecting the efficiency of local governments’ policy analysis and planning officials on development plan formulation. The population was policy analysis and planning officials in local administrative organizations all over the country. Data were collected by using questionnaire with returning of 1,098 questionnaires. Statistics employed for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, Point Biserial Correlation Coefficient, Spearmen’s Product Correlation Coefficient, and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The findings of the study revealed that, in general, policy analysis and planning officials’ efficiency in development planning of was at a high level. The results from stepwise multiple regression found that individual factors, administrative factors, and individual psychological characteristic factors could predict the efficiency of local government’s policy analysis and planning officials on development plan formulation.
