Public Participation Management of Tambon Municipalities In Upper Northern Thailand

The objectives of this research were to study the public participation management (PPM) of tambol municipalities in upper Northern Thailand, and to study the organizational management variables affecting the PPM. Data were collected from 424 samples, i.e., 140 municipality administrators and staffs; 260 government officials, community leaders, and local people; and 24 specialists by questionnaires and structured interviews. The results showed that the overall municipality management was at a high level of 3.76 out of 5.00. The Public Participation Spectrum of PPM and strategic development plans were at high levels, the averages being 3.80 and 3.74 respectively. Technology and innovation as well as the budget management were related significantly to the PPM at .05and .01, respectively. The budget management affected management of strategic development plans of PPM with statistically significance level at .01.
