The implementation of Peter Principle in the promotion of high level executives

บทคัดย่อ

PURPOSES: To study the problem of Peter's rules for promotion of executive positions and propose solutions. METHODS: It's a mixed research, using personnel of 8 large corporations in Thailand of 423 people and interviewing 16 high-level executives. RESULTS: Most large corporations implement Peter Principle in five areas. And yet, a few (10.6%) high-level managers were not promoted in accordance with the Peter Principle. THEORETICAL/POLICY IMPLICATIONS: In order to reduce mistakes or increase the effectiveness of managerial promotions, in addition to looking at performance alone, according to the Peter Principle, high potential should also be considered for promotion.
