Abstract

Current business environments require that organizations have to be aware that innovation is one of the key drivers to create competitive advantages. This study was about innovative work behaviors (IWBs) by systematically reviewing literatures and analyzing contents. The reviewed literatures were divided into three parts. The first part was the methodology consisting of the data collection, instruments, response rate, sample size and analytical statistics. The second part was the scope of the study consisting of the studied areas as well as the number and types of industries. The final part identified the factors of the IWBs and the gaps for future studies. The results led to the clear conclusion that the IWBs were the outcomes of the individual factors such as personality, empowerment, intrinsic motivation and self-esteem. It was also found that the IWBs of the workers were affected by the organizational factors such as leadership and supervisor supports, job characteristics, groups and networks, and organizational characteristics.
