The Role Of The Members Of The Khon Kaen Volunteer Club In Social Well-Being Of Khon Kaen Municipality Khon Kaen Province.

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the role of members in Volunteer Club on social community health of Khon Kaen Municipality, Khon Kaen Province, 2) to know the problems and solving method in the operation of the members in Volunteer Club, and 3) to propose the operational guidelines for the members in Volunteer Club on social community health of Khon Kaen Municipality, Khon Kaen Province. The researcher used four research methods: 1) studying various research papers, 2) in-depth interviewing, 3) participatory observation and 4) group discussion. The sample in the study were 25 persons consisted of 2 executives, 18 members from Volunteer Club and 5 stakeholders. The researcher found that:
1. There were procedures in the operation of members in Volunteer Club on social community health starting from receiving letters from various organizations to invite Volunteer Club to join the activity, members met in the meeting to summarize the details of operation and then divided the tasks/fulfill members to join the activities, cooperation with others organizations, procure supplies/equipment, vehicles and others for the operation, attended the activity and concluded the outcome from the operation of such activity to the Volunteer Club as a result of knowledge sharing for members.  2. Problems and solving methods in the operations of the members in Volunteer Club were cooperation from the community, insufficient human resources, unclear operation and lack of material resources. The solving methods were to collaborate with the host and the community, to openly recruit volunteers to join and work, planning for the operation and to ask for support of vehicles from members. 3. The operational guidelines for the members in Volunteer Club on social community health of Khon Kaen Municipality consisted of 3 aspects. The first one was on operation of the members to have leader who could work efficiently, to set planning and operation procedures with clear roles and training for better skills necessary for volunteer work. The second was on communication and public relation for the work done, members who worked excellently and to build understanding on roles of members to seek for cooperation during operation, to recruit members to work in Volunteer Club with adequate numbers. The third aspect was to set up activity of the Volunteer Club on fund raising to support the operation.
