Abstract

The purposes of the research seemed to 1) develop skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics for Prathomsuksa 3 students according to the efficiency criteria of 80/80, 2) compare English reading skills using skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics for Prathomsuksa 3 students before and after learning, and 3) explore the students' satisfaction towards skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics for Prathomsuksa 3 students. The population of the research was 17 Prathomsuksa 3 students of academic year 2020 of Watkukham School (Methawisaikhanathon) under Chiangmai Primary Educational Service Area Office 4. The research instruments used to collect data were 1) skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics, 2) tests for assessing English reading skills from using skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics, 3) 12 lesson plans of skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics, and 4) student satisfaction questionnaires on learning from skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics for Prathomsuksa 3 students. The findings of the research indicated that; In terms of creating and calculating efficiency of skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics, it was found the efficiency of was 82.77 and the effectiveness of was 89.21, which showed that the research instruments were effective according to the criteria ( = 80/= 80). For comparing the achievement before and after learning of Prathomsuksa 3 students of Watkukham School (Methawisaikhanathon) who learned from skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics, it was found that the mean of scores after learning was 16.47 (82.35%) that was higher than the mean of scores before learning that was 10.88 (54.41%), which progress scores were at 27.94 percent. In terms of the students' satisfaction towards skill practice packages for English reading skills with song lyrics; on the whole, it can be said that it was at the highest level (µ = 4.66, σ = 0.68). When each aspect was considered based on arithmetic means arranged in descending order, it was found that the aspect with the highest value was teachers (µ = 4.72, σ = 0.60). The aspect with the second highest value seemed to be content (µ = 4.66, σ = 0.70), and the aspect with the lowest value was students (µ = 4.63, σ =0.71).
