Abstract

This research is a mixed method research between qualitative research and quantitative research. The objectives were 1) to study the context of the community in the development of multicultural tourism 2) to study the potential of the community in the development of multicultural tourism 3) to study the participation of the community in the development of multicultural tourism and 4. ) to develop multicultural tourism routes Khlong Nam Sai sub district Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The samples of qualitative research were 90 people of community leaders, government officials and villagers in Khlong Nam Sai sub district community, which were obtained by purposive sample. The quantitative samples were 100 people community leaders, government officials and villagers in Khlong Nam Sai sub district community, which were obtained by purposive sample. The research instruments were questionnaires, interview forms, and workshop group meeting. Check the quality of the measuring device by using content validation and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The statistics used to analyze the data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and content analysis. The results of the research revealed that Khlong Nam Sai sub district has multicultural due to their mix between Thai and Thai Yo culture and their has a high potential to develop into a multicultural tourism destination in terms of the potential of the community found that the community is unique and outstanding in the way of life and cultural tradition. As well as the potential of a tourist attraction, it was found that tourist attractions have high potential in tourism attraction because of historical value and has a long history. The potential of facilities and accessibility found that both of them have low potential due to there are less readiness in terms of facilities and traffic routes. Moreover, the community participation, it was found that the community had a high level of overall participation but when considering each aspect, it was found that the operational and operational aspects, monitoring and evaluation had a high level of participation whereas planning and receiving benefits part was found at a moderate level of participation, respectively.
