Organizational Commitment of Personnels in the Secretariat of the House of Representatives

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1)  to determine the level of organizational commitment of the personnel of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives, 2) to study the job characteristics, work experiences, organizational characteristics of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives, 3) to compare the level of organizational commitment of personnel with the Secretariat of the House of Representatives based on personal factors, and 4) to examine the relationship between job characteristics, work experience, organizational characteristics and the level of organizational commitment. The samples were 333 personals in the Secretariat of the House of Representative. Data were collected by questionnaire. Statistics employed in this research were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-Test, One-Way ANOVA and LSD, and Pearson product moment correlation. The level of significance was set .05. The results of the study found that 1) Overall, the level of organizational commitment was at a high level. 2) Job characteristics factor the work experience factor of the personnel is related to the organization. at a high level and the organizational characteristics of the personnel are related to the organization moderate such as gender samples with different, marital status, length of service and salary no different 3) Had level of organizational commitment. While sample with age education level and job positions had different level at organization and commitment and 4) Organizational characteristics Factors had strongest relationship with the organization commitment, followed by the job character nastic. Work experience factor had the weakest correlation with the organizational commitment.
