The Development of Agriculture in Thai Society and the Guideline of Farmer-Household Economic Management Toward Social Development

Abstract

This article intends to present the development of agriculture in Thai society and the guideline of farmer-household economic management for social development. It was studied by searching for data from documents academic articles and research concerns. The author assessed the values ​​of the documents using internal critique methods to verify the coverage and consistency of the content with the titles studied. The document was then re-analyzed according to Scott's principles as follows: 1] Corrective 2] Confidential 3] Representative and 4] Clarity. Analyze data by summarizing and interpreting it to present fact-finding. The results found that the development of agricultural forms in Thai society could divide into 3 types: Subsistence agriculture or traditional, Commercial agriculture, and Sustainable agriculture. Each model has a different relationship with the household economy. Because the context of the society in each changing era will have a different economic overview. As for the farmer's household economic management toward social development, it was found that there are several approaches as follows: Applying Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, Application of new agricultural concepts in agricultural production management, Household accounting management, and Debt management. It also found that psychological factors such as motivation and success were also related to the management of the household economy.
