Development of a Medical Consultation Channel for the Elderly

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop smartphone application for caring for the elderly, and 2) to study the satisfaction of the performance on smartphone application for caring for the elderly. The samples group were: doctors, professional nurses and public health technical officer at Primary Care Cluster Phetchabun Hospital, KlongSala branch, the public health volunteers in Phetchabun Municipality, the elderly and relatives from Primary Care Cluster Phetchabun Hospital at KlongSala branch as patient amount of 174 persons. The sample group were selected by specific selection on those who have knowledge and understanding of elderly care. The development on smartphone application for care by using elderly. By used the style of SDLC (system development life cycle) and the satisfaction assessment of the performance on smartphone application. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.

            The result of research revealed that, smartphone application for the elderly care comprise of 3 items functions; 1) medical consulting channel for the elderly. 2) emergency of doctors channel. 3) knowledge channel with elderly caring article. The results of the study on satisfaction with efficiency of using application revealed that most of the samples were satisfied with the highest level ("x"  ̅ = 4.46, S.D. = 0.57).
