Profile
Neil Bowen is an Associate Professor at Thammasat University, Thailand,  and ESRC Doctoral graduate from Cardiff University, UK. Before moving to Thailand, he taught on the MA TEFL program at Swansea University, UK. His research interests focus on process–product relationships in writing using a combined cognitive and Systemic Functional Linguistics’ approach, and his 2019 article was the runner-up for the John R. Hayes’ best article award in writing research. His work can be seen in prominent journals such as Applied Linguistics, Journal of Second Language Writing, TESOL Quarterly, System, Journal of Writing Research, Written Communication, Teaching and Teacher Education, and others. He is also the author of the upcoming book, Essential knowledge and skills for essay writing: A practical guide for ESL and EFL undergraduates, published by Equinox.
