jSEL Policy Statement: Turnitin AI-Generated Content Report (Effective 1 January 2026)
Posted on 2026-01-09Effective 1 January 2026, all new submissions to the Journal of Studies in the English Language (JSEL) must include a Turnitin report indicating less than 20% AI-generated content in total, which refers to both AI-generated text and AI-paraphrased text.
Authors who do not have access to Turnitin must state this clearly at the time of submission. In such cases, the editorial office will conduct the Turnitin screening on the authors’ behalf.
Submissions that (i) do not include a Turnitin report and (ii) do not notify the journal that Turnitin access is unavailable will be desk-rejected automatically. In cases of non-compliance with this policy, no feedback on the manuscript’s content will be provided.
This policy is implemented to uphold JSEL’s standards of authorship, originality, and academic integrity.
