บทคัดย่อ
ตลอดช่วงเวลา 3 ทศวรรษ วงวิชาการเควียร์ศึกษาในโลกตะวันตกมีข้อถกเถียงเกี่ยวกับวิธีการและขอบเขตของประเด็นที่ศึกษาระหว่างฝ่ายที่ให้ความสนใจกับความรู้สึกทางเพศซึ่งเรียกว่าเป็น “เควียร์ที่มีตัวตนทางเพศ” กับฝ่ายที่ให้ความสนใจการวิพากษ์ระบอบอำนาจที่สร้างการแบ่งแยกกีดกันและความไม่เท่าเทียมทางสังคม ซึ่งเรียกว่า “เควียร์ที่ไร้ตัวตน” ข้อโต้แย้งระหว่างสองแนวทางการศึกษาได้สะท้อนว่าพรมแดนความรู้เควียร์ยากต่อการสร้างนิยามที่ชัดเจน ทำให้นักวิชาการจำนวนมากยังคงถกเถียงและแสวงหาโจทย์วิจัยเพื่ออธิบายประสบการณ์ทางเพศที่ซับซ้อนและไม่หยุดนิ่งของมนุษย์ เช่นเดียวกับเควียร์ศึกษาในสังคมไทยที่กำลังทบทวนและตั้งคำถามเกี่ยวกับสิทธิ ความเท่าเทียม อัตลักษณ์ และการนิยามตัวตนทางเพศที่เปลี่ยนแปลงตลอดเวลา ทำให้เควียร์ศึกษาในสังคมไทยเป็นทั้งการเคลื่อนไหวทางการเมืองของความหลากหลายทางเพศและการท้าทายความรู้เรื่องเพศตามบรรทัดฐาน
